Pediatrics carries important responsibilities, but is also filled with laughter, curiosity, and joy, and that combination makes it deeply rewarding.
Background
Dr. Annika Ritz joined our practice in 2025. She attended medical school at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and completed her residency at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent.
Dr. Ritz was inspired to pursue pediatrics out of a love for helping children thrive and supporting families through every stage of growth. She values building trusting partnerships and providing thoughtful, compassionate guidance as families navigate their child’s care. Recognizing that every child has their own strength and needs, Dr. Ritz takes time to listen, ensuring each family feels heard and supported. Building relationships is at the heart of her work, and she strives to help children gradually take an active role in their own health as they grow.
Having worked in Germany, the U.S., and Taiwan, Dr. Ritz brings a culturally sensitive perspective to her practice and values the diverse ways families approach health and wellness. She considers it a privilege to be part of each family’s journey, learning about their lives and watching their children grow over the years.
Dr. Ritz also has a special interest in travel medicine and enjoys helping families prepare for international travel by reviewing destination-specific health risks, preventive measures, and recommended immunizations.
Dr. Ritz was born in Germany and raised in Philadelphia. Her studies later took her back to Germany, where she met her partner, an Issaquah native. Together, they moved to Indianapolis for residency, and she is now happy to call Seattle home. Outside of work, Dr. Ritz enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, horseback riding, ceramics, and cooking. When she’s not outdoors or working on a project, she loves spending time with her partner, trying new restaurants, exploring farmers markets, playing board games, and attending local plays and musicals.
