I love working with children of all ages and their families. Having the opportunity to see the world through their eyes is a gift!
Dr. Emily Stein joined our practice in August 2017. She went to Grinnell College for her undergraduate studies, University of Washington School of Medicine for medical school, and completed her residency in pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Read also has a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology from University College London.
Dr. Stein has a special interest in promoting wellness by helping to educate patients and their families about good nutrition and an active lifestyle. She also works with teens on the avoidance of risk-taking behaviors. These areas of interest build on her experiences prior to starting medical school, when she was working with the Oxford Health Alliance (now called C3 Collaborating for Health) in London, UK. C3 is an NGO that focuses on the prevention of non-communicable diseases, such as those linked to obesity and substance abuse. She says, “Working in pediatrics is the perfect opportunity to help young people set up good, healthy habits and avoid these sorts of disorders in the future.”
Dr. Stein lives in Seattle. She loves being outside in any capacity. In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and learning how to cook.
