The ability to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives during their most vulnerable moments inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare.

Background

Tessa Leshkiw joined our practice in 2025. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from San Jose State University. She then went on to complete her nursing degree and graduate training at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Her clinical practicum included the MGH Pediatric Psychiatry OCD and Tic Disorders Program. While attending graduate school, Tessa worked as a psychiatric nurse for Monte Nido, a multi-state eating disorder treatment center. Following graduate school, she gained experience as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at LightHeart Mental Health.

Tessa was drawn to healthcare by her fascination with the brain and human behavior, as well as her desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. She provides collaborative, trauma-informed behavioral health care for children and adolescents, creating a welcoming space where patients and families feel heard and supported. Her approach is guided by compassion, respect, and partnership, with treatment plans tailored to each child’s unique needs and goals. Her special interests include anxiety disorders, OCD, and eating disorders.

Outside of work, Tessa enjoys traveling, reading, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
