Dear patients and families,
I am writing to inform you that I will be retiring from Allegro Pediatrics at the end of March 2022.
After much introspection over the past year, I have decided to take my life in a new direction.
While I haven’t sorted out all the details of what is next yet, I know that it will involve doing many
of the things I already love including hiking, gardening, traveling, and participating in the arts.
It has been a privilege to be your pediatrician and to get to know you and your families over
time. I will miss the shared moments of laughter as well as the inevitable more difficult moments
of life that we have experienced together. Watching a child grow and develop into a young adult
over time is one of the true joys of being a pediatrician. As much as I have enjoyed teaching my
patients and their parents, you should know that I have learned so much from all of you as well.
Thank you for letting me be a part of you and your family’s life journey and entrusting me with
your care. I am confident that you will be in good hands with one of my capable partners at
I wish you all the best in the future.
Eric Gustafson, MD, FAAP
