Flavored Vaping Products

The Washing State Board of Health has issued an emergency ban on the sale of flavored vaping products. This ban includes flavored THC vaping products. The ban comes after serious lung illnesses and deaths have occurred due to ingredients found in flavored vaping products. Counterfeit Oxycodone Containing Fentanyl

Our community is mourning the loss of teens who accidentally overdosed on a drug they believed was oxycodone. Counterfeit oxycodone pills are in circulation that contain a synthetic drug called fentanyl. The counterfeit oxycodone pills look identical to real oxycodone pills, but contain fentanyl. According to the CDC, fentanyl is a synthetic opioid pain reliever that is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine. Since September 26th, 2019, Public Health – Seattle & King County has confirmed six fentanyl-involved fatal overdoses.

We encourage you to talk to your teens about the dangers of drug use, specifically the increase in fentanyl-involved overdoses. As a reminder, do not take pills that did not come directly from a pharmacy and never take pills that were purchased online. Visit the resources listed below to learn more about fentanyl and how to help keep your teen safe.
