Happy New Year! As we begin 2021, we are ever grateful to you, our patient families, who trust the care of your children to Allegro Pediatrics.
In our attempt to serve you better, we will be changing our internal charting system beginning February 1st. Think of this like switching from one version of an email client you use each day (like Outlook) to another. The transition may feel relatively small, but if all your work is in it every day, it is a substantial change to your routine. So, despite intense training, we know that you will experience some effects in the short-term. We apologize in advance for the delays and challenges that this may cause your family. We ask for your patience, compassion, and respect as we move through this change to improve our ability to serve you better in the future.
Temporary impacts to you will begin tonight, Friday, January 22nd. At this time, our Patient Portal will be moved into “maintenance” mode. What this means for you is that our secure messaging through the portal will be temporarily unavailable until February 10th. You will still have access to your portal account, but we will not be able to communicate with you using it. If you do not have a portal account, we welcome the opportunity to sign you up for it after February 10th.
The overall change will have very minimal effect to our online scheduling tool, pre-visit communications, and electronic check-in process.
During the first couple of weeks in February, expect that we will have reduced appointment availability and slightly slower than usual response to nurse phone calls. We will strive to attend to all your urgent needs, however some normal well care visits will have to be slightly delayed. If you already have an appointment, we look forward to seeing you. If you do not, we look forward to serving you as soon as we can, even if it is just slightly later in the month than anticipated.
